found this

I wrote this poem during my life in central america:

The weight of glory
has always been my burden
the weight of him,
I feel behind a closed curtain.

the weight of faith,
of grace and restoration
opposes his weight —
and brings me condemnation

to feel his heartbeat,
when he lays on me
to taste his tongue
the sugar & salt - so bittersweet

the weight of this man
whether near me or not
usurps the burden of glory
i hope i haven't forgot

to be hip to hip
the touch of his hand
the truth of the gospel
i don't want to understand

he seems to weigh more
than a whole building of men
singing hymns and praises
It's OK — I can easily pretend

he weighs so much
his beauty must leave
i'm scared the weight of glory
i can no longer retrieve.
